In this journey

  1. Distinguishes between feedback that describes a specific observed behaviour, its impact on the work and the expected alternative, and feedback that passes a general judgement on the employee's person or intentions or is held back until the annual review.
  2. In a given work situation, formulates feedback that links the employee's behaviour to one of their written objectives or KPIs and cites an example from their work output, such as a report, a transaction or a customer message.
  3. In a one-to-one coaching scenario, conducts a dialogue that opens with questions inviting the employee to propose a solution before the manager offers a view, and closes by agreeing a specific next step with a due date.
  4. Uses the approved one-to-one template to record the discussion and the agreed actions, then opens the next meeting by reviewing those actions and documenting the progress made or the reasons for delay.
